See what is happening

See what is actually happening

You do not have to log in anywhere.

The list comes to your phone before you leave the house. Finding a sixty two day invoice on a Monday morning instead of at month end is four weeks of cash you were never going to get back, and the same list catches the quote nobody answered and the job that was finished and never billed.

01

The questions this answers

Not a wall of charts. The handful of questions you already ask, answered without anyone building a spreadsheet on a Sunday night.

  • How much work is in the pipe, and what stage each piece is at.
  • What is late, and whose name is on it.
  • What is unpaid, and how old.
  • Which customers have gone quiet since last quarter.
  • Which of the things you tried actually brought work in.

If a number does not change what you do on Monday, it comes off the screen.

02

The list comes to you, the screen waits until you want it

A chart tells you last month was slow. A list tells you which five people to phone before ten.

So the list is the product. It arrives on your phone every morning with the name, the reason that name is on it, and when anyone last spoke to them. You never have to remember to open anything, which is the reason it keeps working after the novelty wears off.

The screen behind it is for the morning you want to see why a number moved. Most owners look at it every week or two, and that is the right amount.

03

What it looks like in three businesses

Accounting practice, first week of the season

Sixty three returns are open, nineteen are waiting on the client, and eleven of those have been waiting more than ten days. The eleven are listed with the client name, the missing document and the date anyone last contacted them. Two juniors clear the list before lunch.

Fitness club, month end

Attendance by class shows the Tuesday evening session at half of what it ran in March while Saturday morning is full. Separately, nineteen members on debit order have not come in for a month. The manager moves a coach and phones the nineteen.

Boutique retail, Monday 07:30

Three lines are below reorder level, one supplier is late on an order placed a fortnight ago, and last week's best seller carries the thinnest margin in the shop. The owner reorders two, chases one, and puts a price up.

04

Before you buy a screen

Ask yourselfWhat it means
Does the information exist somewhere, even in spreadsheets?Spreadsheets are fine. Numbers that only exist in people's heads are a different job first
Does somebody already build this by hand every month? Then you already know what it is worth. Multiply their hours by twelve
Do two of your systems disagree about the same figure?Worth agreeing which one is right before anything gets drawn, and we can help with only that
What would you do differently if you saw this every morning? If the answer is nothing, the number is not worth putting on a screen
Do you need this, or does a bank or a shareholder need it?A report for somebody else is usually a spreadsheet
05

What it costs

WhatFrom
One screen with your own numbersR15,000
The daily list, on a phone or by emailQuoted per job, and you see the number before anything starts
Getting figures out of systems that hold on to themQuoted with the connecting work, so you can see the two halves separately

What moves the price:

  • How many places the numbers come from, and whether we can read them directly.
  • How much tidying the history needs before anyone should trust it.
  • How many views, and how many people with different levels of access.
  • How often it refreshes. Overnight is straightforward. Live costs more and is rarely worth it.

What we can see, and what we never touch

To show you your numbers we have to read from the systems holding them. Reading is usually all we need.

  • Read only access wherever the job allows it, granted by you, to a named user, inside your own accounts.
  • Removable in one click at any time.
  • We do not need your banking login. Bank figures come from your accounts package, not from your bank.
  • Salaries and margins are visible only to the people you put on that view. A branch manager can see his own team's workload without seeing what anyone earns.
  • The screen runs on your accounts, in your name, and the documentation for how it is built is handed over with it.
07

What we build here

Dashboards

Your own numbers on one screen, refreshed on their own, built around the questions you actually ask.

Reporting and the morning list

The short list of names and reasons, sent to you before the day starts.

Getting the figures out

Most numbers are trapped in the tool that produced them. Freeing them is connecting work and we quote it separately.

One place for customers and jobs

Half of these questions only have an answer if enquiries and jobs are recorded in one place, so that is often the first thing to sort out.

08

How to start small

01

Pick the three questions you ask every Monday

Not thirty. Three.

02

Find out whether those numbers are reachable

That is a short investigation and it decides the price.

03

Start with the list, not the charts

It costs less, it lands on your phone, and within a fortnight you know whether it changed anything.

04

Review after a month and cut

Half of what goes on the first version comes off, and the screen gets better for it.

The numbers, in one place

  • One screen with your own numbers from R15,000.
  • The daily list is quoted per job, and you see the number before anything starts.
  • Getting figures out of stubborn systems is quoted with the connecting work.
