Someone keeping an eye on it, from R7,000 a year
Two hours of downtime costs you almost nothing.
A contact form that quietly stopped sending on the 12th and was not noticed until the 30th costs you every enquiry in between, and you never learn the names of the people who gave up on you. So we test the forms, not only the home page. A care plan covers hosting, daily backups, security updates, monitoring and the small changes that come up during a year. From R7,000 a year. No lock-in, no notice period, and the logins stay yours the whole time.
What is included
| Item | What it means in practice |
|---|---|
| Hosting | Fast South African or regional hosting, sized for your traffic, in an account that stays in your name |
| Daily backups | Kept off the server, tested, and restorable to a specific day rather than to whatever the host happens to still have |
| Security updates | The site software and its components patched on a schedule, not the week after something breaks |
| Uptime monitoring | Checked every few minutes, day and night. We find out before your customers do. |
| A weekly form test | We submit your own enquiry form and confirm it arrived. This is the one that saves real money. |
| Certificate renewal | The padlock in the browser stays valid. An expired certificate frightens off more customers than anything else on this list. |
| Small changes | Prices, photos, opening hours, a new team member, a post you wrote. What that covers is set out below. |
| A monthly note | Two paragraphs. What happened, what changed, and anything with a renewal date coming up. |
| A named person | You email a person and get a person back. |
The plans, and what happens when it is not a small change
| Plan | What it fits | A year | A month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | A site of a few pages with a contact form | R7,000 | R700 |
| Busy | Forms, bookings, and a couple of connections to other tools | R14,000 | R1,400 |
| Shop | An online shop with payments, courier and accounts connected | R24,000 | R2,400 |
The yearly rate is the cheaper one. Both are available and neither locks you in.
Work beyond a small change is quoted per job, and you see the number before anything starts. A new form with a confirmation email is usually a day.
If you are not on a plan and something breaks, we fit you in when we can, and it is quoted per job before we start. In a busy week that is not the same day, which is the real reason a plan is worth having rather than any speech about peace of mind.
Sites we built come with thirty days after go live where anything broken is ours to fix at no charge, plan or no plan.
Small changes: how we handle it
Quick minor updates get done without a fuss. A price change, a new photo, updated hours, a staff member added, a post you wrote and want published. No form to fill in, no quote for ten minutes of work, and usually done inside a day or two. We do not count them and you never get a tally at the end of the month.
We do not call it unlimited, because unlimited is never true and both of us know it. A new page, a new form, a new section, or anything that takes most of a day, gets quoted per job. You hear that it is quoted work before it starts. If an invoice from us ever surprises you, we got that wrong and we will fix it.
What is not included
- New pages and new featuresQuoted per job, and you see the number before anything starts.
- A redesignThat is a project with its own conversation and its own number.
- Running your shop day to dayLoading products, processing orders, chasing couriers.
- Writing your content at volumePublishing what you wrote is included. Producing a monthly article is a separate arrangement.
- Third party licences and paid pluginsPassed on at cost, with the renewal dates on your monthly note so nothing lapses without you hearing about it.
What we have access to, and what happens if we disappear
A care plan means standing access, so it should be spelled out.
- Your hosting account, in your name and paid by you, with us as a user you can remove at any time.
- An admin login on the site, created by you, revocable by you in one click.
- Your domain registrar, so renewals do not lapse. You remain the registered owner.
- The monitoring account, which is ours, and which we hand over or point at your own address if you ask.
We do not have your payment provider's payout settings or your customers' card details. Nothing on a care plan requires them.
There are two of us. If neither of us were here next month, nothing about your site stops working, because it does not run on our machines. It runs in your hosting account, on your domain, with the code and the written build notes already in your hands. Handover to another developer is an afternoon: you revoke our logins, hand over the notes, and they carry on.
Kribasha, and what a named person actually means
Kribasha is who you email. She is not an account manager in a suit. She reads what you send, tells you when it will be done, and comes back to you when it is done, which means you never have to chase us for an update.
When something breaks she tells you what happened in words you can forward to a client without translating them first. When something is quoted work she says so before anyone starts. When a licence is coming up for renewal it is in your monthly note, not in a surprise invoice.
When you do not need one
- You have an IT person or an internal team who already do this. We hand over documented, so their job is easy.
- Your site is a single page you never change, on managed hosting that patches itself. We set it up properly and hand you the keys.
A plan is worth its money when the site earns you enquiries. If the site is a business card, a plan is an expense with no return.
The numbers, in one place
- Essential R7,000 a year.
- Busy site R14,000 a year.
- Online shop R24,000 a year.
- Work beyond a small change is quoted per job, and you see the number before anything starts.
Questions owners ask us
No. We take over existing sites after a short check of what is there. Occasionally that check finds a site built in a way we cannot safely maintain, and we say so before taking it on.
Something small: text, prices, photos, opening hours, a team member, publishing a post you wrote. Anything bigger gets a number and your go-ahead before work starts.
We restore from a clean backup, close the hole that let it in, and give you a plain account of what happened that you can pass to a client. On a plan that work is included. Recovering an unmaintained site with no backups is a different and far more expensive morning.
Yes. The yearly rate is lower and both are available. There is no lock-in, and if you leave you take the code, the backups and every login with you.
We manage the renewal so it never lapses, and the domain stays registered in your name. The registrar's fee is yours and is passed on at cost.
Within one working day for normal requests, and immediately for a site that is down, because the monitor usually tells us before you do.
The next step
Send us your site address and we run a free check on speed, backups, security updates and whether your forms are actually delivering.
You get the findings whether or not you take a plan. WhatsApp or call +27 73 932 6852, or email [email protected]. If you would rather we walked you through it, take twenty minutes and we will share the screen.
Or email [email protected]. No slides, and no invoice for the conversation.
